HASTINGS STREET history
In 1962, a young intrepid filmmaker by the name of Larry Kent shot 'HASTINGS STREET'. A short film about Charlie, an ex-con trying to stay on the straight and narrow. When filming was wrapped, Larry and DOP Richard Bellamy decided to not edit the film and instead shoot Kent's first Feature 'The Bitter Ash'. 'HASTINGS STREET' sat in Bellamy's basement for 45 years until 2007 and it was resurrected and cut together. The original shoot used no sound equipment so a new generation of actors was tasked with re-voicing the classic performances.
The Original HASTINGS STREET (1962)
Inspired by the original, writer-director Andrew Moxham and writer-actor Shane Twerdun decided with Larry Kent's blessing, to turn the 20 minute short into a feature length screenplay. In august 2012 they went to camera. 50 years after the original.
